On behalf of the members of the Board of Governors of Carnegie School of Home-Economics and the Craft Production and Design Division as well as the staff, we extend sincere condolences to the parents, son, siblings and other members of the Omega’s family.
Our sympathies are also with her students, colleagues at the New Central High School and members of the Home-Economics fraternity.
Omega was a quiet, gentle and dedicated soul. She was known to be a diligent and industrious person. As a teacher she was loved by her students, a mentor, an Aunt and a surrogate mother. She was loved, respected and admired by her colleagues and friends.
She is remembered by the staff of Carnegie as being a part of Guyana’s culinary delegation to Carifesta in Haiti in 2015. She did a wonderful job along with Ms. Renita Kennedy in showcasing Culinary Arts of Guyana.
Omega was a member of our most recently appointed Board of Governors. We are shocked, devastated and deeply hurt by her sudden demise. No words at this time, can explain away such a loss. It a huge loss the association of Home-Economists and moreso, our beautiful Guyana.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
